15 Decades After...

Last Sunday, June 12, was the commemoration of the 113th Philippine Independence Day. A very important part of our history to remember.

Today, June 19, we look back, we reflect and we commemorate the 150th Birthday of our National Hero, Dr. José Rizal.

DepEd commemorates Dr. Jose Rizal's 150th Birthday with a National Fun Run Activity called as 'Takbo ni PEPE'  in different provinces. The rains did not dampen the mood of Filipinos across the country who wanted to take part in the celebration. In spite of the threat of the flooded streets due to continuous rains since yesterday and the threat of terror, an estimated of 250,000 participants which are mostly students trooped to Rizal Park in Manila, making 'Rizal @ 150' the biggest celebration in the entire archipelago as reported by abs-cbnnews.com
At last... nakarating din sa starting position!

Assembly time 5:00 AM
Rain, Rain, Go Away... Come Again Another Day!
PEPE is an acronym for People Empowerment Program for Education. With the theme, "Every Runner, a Finisher, Every Finisher, a Winner" students and teachers from different Divisions of NCR joined Fun Run at Rizal Park.

From our school, we have less than 1,400 senior-student-participants grouped by 20's. A total of 67 groups were formed, each group is monitored by one teacher-in-charge.

Rizal @ 150...
Are we there yet?...
I joined the whole country in commemorating this important milestone of our history. Fifteen decades ago, a hero was born. He dedicated his life for the 'bright future' of this country. Today, we have the strength and the potential of our youth which Rizal envisioned as "Pag-aga ng Bayan". Fifteen years after, Asan na nga ba tayo ngayon?

What's New About Class Opening?

June 6. Monday.
First Day of Classes for S.Y. 2011-2012.

My grandfather once corrected the quotation, "A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step." According to him, every journey does not begin with a single step, so it should be, 'A journey of a thousand miles, begins with the first step.' It took time before I fully understood the wisdom behind his lecture. Beginning is not just a single step but a series of steps.

Today, I am looking back on my "beginning" of my teaching carrer. It was only last week during our In-Service Training (INSET), as we had a Review about the movie '3 Idiots' after I've realized that I'm already on my sixth year in the field of teaching, maybe because of the nature of the profession itself, not to mention the frequently said by elders... 'teachers even forgot marrying' hahaha.

It has been a tough beginning but somehow a little fulfilling to realize how many students already listened to me... [I hope so...] ... time says, whether you like it or not, you've already spent 2005.75 days in the teaching arena! Thanks be to God for His Divine Guidance. I don't even think I would have survived in the field.

Today marks another School Year, another batch of students, and of course .......another set of uniform. First day of school of course is no ordinary day... even if you ask the oldies...  so, how's the opening of classes?
Let's start with the flag ceremony...
